Artist Statement
Florence Chen creates mixed-media works that begin with familiar subjects and everyday encounters.
Using paper, PLA, and other materials, she constructs moments where absence and presence, humor and discomfort, difference and belonging sit side by side, often closer than we expect.
The work invites a second look at things that often pass unnoticed.
It rewards slow looking.
